Radiated from the Paris bar on December 31, 2019, lawyer Alex Ursulet, 64, who had notably defended serial killer Guy Georges, appealed this decision to the Disciplinary Council of the Order. A young woman, an intern at his office in 2018, accuses him of rape. While she had not yet filed a complaint, which is now done, the supposed facts are reported by a third person to the Order; the latter initiates a disciplinary procedure carried out at full speed. Not for rape, which is within the jurisdiction of a criminal court, but for the “breaches” of ethics of which Me Ursulet would have been guilty. On December 31, 2019, therefore, the disciplinary body, chaired for the occasion by the former president of the bar Pierre-Olivier Sur, rendered its sentence, which it motivated by extremely severe expectations.
