Montreal SPCA: Larry is looking for a family for life!

Each week, the Salut Bonjour team highlights adorable animals, all rescued by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Montreal (SPCA). These adorable little beasts have one thing in common: they are looking for a family that is able to give them the proper care and offer them love at will.

For more than 150 years, the mission of the Montreal SPCA has been to protect animals from neglect, abuse and exploitation, to represent their interests and ensure their welfare, to promote public awareness and sensitivity towards them.

On average, cats have to wait 7 days and dogs 10 days before being welcomed by a new family. If a large majority of them quickly find a home, this is not the case for all. Some, because of their age, race or temperament, are forced to stay longer.

The organization does not discriminate: in addition to four-legged animals, it accepts birds, rats, turtles or rodents. This week, the Montreal SPCA is looking for a new family for this adorable animal!

Larry, the most zen of cats, is looking for a family!

The Montreal SPCA currently has many cats waiting for adoption. Unlike kittens, which are adopted quickly, senior residents sometimes need a helping hand to find a home that’s right for them. By adopting an older animal from the Montreal SPCA, you are of course giving it a second chance, but your good deed has another benefit. In fact, “experienced” cats are very endearing, they know how to relax and take good afternoon naps while you go about your business! Yes, although they need exercise and like to play, older animals are generally calmer than young ones.

Among the animals looking for a family is adorable 10-year-old Larry, who is sure to melt your heart. This zen cat dreams of relaxing on your lap while watching your favorite TV shows. If you work from home, Larry will be sitting at your computer to keep you company – an ideal colleague!

Very sociable, he will rush to the door to greet you when you come home. In addition, your guests will also be very well received by Larry, as he is not afraid at all! Do you already have a cat at home? No problem! Larry gets along well with his peers as long as they respect his calmness.

Simply put, this majestic tomcat is relaxed and has a dreamy personality. He even loves to be brushed! Larry suffers from diabetes and is looking for a caring family willing to give him an injection twice a day to control his disease. However, be aware that the situation is perfectly manageable, because this unusual cat accepts bites without complaint. He also has to consume special food and is monitored by a vet who makes sure he is well. To facilitate the adoption, the Montreal SPCA absorbs the usual adoption fees: agreeing to care for a diabetic cat is already a very generous gesture.

Larry enjoys an excellent quality of life, but he will need to lose some weight. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and has benefited from dental care at the Montreal SPCA.

All he needs now is a loving family to take care of him; he deserves it so much! Do you have a little place at home for this handsome guy? Larry will be forever grateful!
