Novak Djokovic could enter the USA!

Novak Djokovic could enter the USA! The Serbian tennis player has had a tough year due to his decision not to get vaccinated. The first storm came in Australia, when the former world number one showed up in Melbourne with a medical exemption: a pass accepted by the tournament, but not by the country.

In fact, a Melbourne court decision sent Djokovic back to the border and, subsequently, to Serbia. Subsequent programming has therefore been modified based on the states’ decisions on anti-covid legislation.

Few lights in the Eastern part of the world, while in the West there were no problems: present at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, as well as in Rome and Madrid. However, a new problem seems to arise as the North American season approaches.

The legislation in force in the United States stipulated that the complete cycle of vaccination was compulsory to enter the USA. It therefore seemed excluded the presence of Djokovic in Cincinnati, but especially in Flushing Meadows, where last year the dream of obtaining the Grand Slam of the calendar was shattered.

However, things have changed and the glimmers of light for the Serbian champion are visible.

The new guidelines

According to the Center for Disease Control press release, the same action guidelines will be applied to vaccinated and unvaccinated people in the United States.

This is, in fact, the new legislation for which there will no longer be any differentiation of the two subjects due to the spread of the Covid virus in the same way. With this new directive, Novak Djokovic could therefore have the right to enter the United States.

It may be late to return to the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, but all the conditions seem to be in place for the Serb to find the Grand Slam he has won three times. A Grand Slam that would allow him to equal Rafael Nadal in number of titles, which would allow him to move up the rankings and chase away the bad memories accumulated last year.
