A 47-year-old man was sentenced to eight months in prison, including six under electronic bracelet, Wednesday evening, by the criminal court of Le Mans, following a violent attack by dogs which he owned. The facts happened on August 20, at the end of the afternoon, in Noyen-sur-Sarthe, south-west of Le Mans. A 15-year-old girl was riding a scooter with a friend when three unleashed mastiffs pounced on her, biting her fifteen times.
A young man had tried to help him and had also been bitten several times in the leg. Covered in blood by the emergency services, seriously injured, the young girl had to undergo several operations
Insolence at the hearing
According to witnesses, the owner of the dogs had been passive during the attack. At the hearing on Wednesday, the defendant also displayed insolent behavior, which did not facilitate the court’s leniency, reports West France.
The three American bully dogs, which had already bitten, were euthanized, indicates France Bleu.
