The researchers followed the subjects’ metabolism for two 56-hour sessions. For the first session, three meals were served at 8 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. For the second session, meals were served at 12:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. – the 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. meals being nutritionally equivalent.
