The Snow White Chihuahua thrown into a dumpster: an investigation opened by the Orleans prosecutor’s office

It was in the middle of a pile of rubbish that a female chihuahua was found, Saturday 8 October, at the waste disposal center in Châteauneuf-sur-Loire. The animal was in a dumpster intended for “all comers”, which the compactor roller was about to crushwhen the agents of the Intermunicipal Syndicate for the collection and treatment of household waste (Sictom) saw him.

The facts had angered the pound of Fay-aux-Loges, who had denounced on his social networks an animal thrown away “like common trash”.

But the chihuahua’s rightful owner has since come forward: “She went to the pound explaining that his dog had been stolen from his home”relates Aurélie Scoth, animal agent at the Fay-aux-Loges pound.

A disappearance reported to several veterinarians

“We were able to see that this lady had a lot of photos and videos of her dog, that she had indeed reported her disappearance to several Loiret veterinariansand that the animal was well followed by one of them.”

Snow White, the female chihuahua, was therefore returned to her owner on Tuesday, October 11.

On his side, the Orleans prosecutor’s office indicates that it has opened an investigation for “voluntary abandonment of a domestic, tamed or captive animal” having exposed it “at immediate or imminent risk of death”.

The investigations were entrusted to the gendarmerie brigade of Châteauneuf-sur-Loire.
