On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November 2022, 37 volunteers from the 13 partner municipalities of Pleyben Social Grocery will give their time to the annual collection for the Food Bank, a national solidarity scheme.
“We have three teams that will ensure rotation at the entrance to Lidl and Intermarché in the city, but also at the E. Leclerc Center in Châteaulin”, states Robert le Bot, manager of the social grocery store. Other volunteers will be responsible for the transport of the collected food to the Pleybennois premises in the structure, without forgetting the team dedicated to storage and weighing.
Last year, solidarity worked with 2.4 tonnes of collected products. On the part of those responsible, we hope for such a good result, although inflation may have an influence. “We also distributed posters and collection bags in the grocery stores in the structure’s member municipalities. We especially demand canned food, starchy foods (pasta, rice), flour… Less so baby products, as we have few families who help with small children. After all, people donate what they want and are able to,” explains Robert Le Bot.
