United States“What’s going on? Why are you bringing me food?”

A 6-year-old playing with his father’s phone ordered nearly $1,000 worth of food. His father thought it was a bad joke at first.

Keith and Kristin Stonehouse were spending a quiet evening at their home in Chesterfield, Michigan, when someone rang their doorbell on Saturday. Surprised, the couple discovered in front of their door a bag of food from a take-out shop. Minutes later, the Americans received pizzas they had never ordered. Then shortly after a delivery from a kebab restaurant and so on.

“It kept going, piles of bags of food… The delivery guys were putting them behind the door so we couldn’t communicate with them,” Keith told WDIV. Only believing a bad joke, the father ended up yelling at one of the employees who had come to place an order. “What’s going on? Why are you bringing me food?” asked the American. “You ordered kebabs,” the delivery boy replied simply.

Fries, ice cream, chicken…

That’s when Keith realized: he had been letting his 6-year-old son play with his phone before going to bed. And since the father had not closed the application he uses to order food, the little boy enjoyed himself. Between ice cream, fries, pizzas, chicken and other meals, the couple had nearly $1,000 extra. Fortunately, Keith’s bank blocked almost half of the payments, but the joke is still painful for the wallet.

Keith Stonehouse was sweating profusely as he realized what had happened.

After taking a deep breath, the American went to explain to his child, using his piggy bank, that food costs money. Little Mason isn’t about to play with his dad’s phone again, who wants to learn how to secure it.
