The association in charge of Flip, the doggie with a heavy past, was desperate to see him one day leave for new adventures in a loving home. After many calls on social networks, a woman finally came to him. And the love at first sight was mutual. Since then, Flip has started the most beautiful chapter of his life.
Flip was locked in a box in the shelter Lake Humane Society for nearly 7 years, i.e. almost all of its existence.
In fact, when he was still a puppy, Flip was saved from the acts of abuse he suffered. A long rehabilitation process then began with the volunteers involved.
After several months, he was ready to meet adopters. His heavy past had left him some scars, but he was willing to make his future masters happy.
However, years have passed without the canid seeing people interested in him. His congeners left one after the other before his eyes, and he remained desperately in the kennel.
On September 8, 2022, the Lake Humane Society once again published the sad story of Flip on his social networks. And luckily, a woman named Jennifer Schorr fell under the spell of his imploring gaze.
A moving encounter
The shelter volunteers wanted at all costs to prevent Flip undergo a new disappointment.
It was therefore decided that jennifer would cover the 3-hour journey that separated her from her future 4-legged companion for a first meeting without intention.
“When I saw Flip on the internet, he melted my heart, and his story moved me deeply. They told me he might not want to come near me at first, but it was just the opposite. He came to sit by my side, and he even gave me kisses.said the young woman to People.
jenniferwho is also the associate director of the education division of an animal shelter named Buckeye Community Hope Foundation, had recently lost his faithful German Shepherd. So it was the right time for her to reach out to Flip.

After a second meeting which also took place under the best auspices, Flip has entered his home forever.
“He trotted inside and immediately felt at home”told jennifer before adding that he has adapted perfectly to his environment and his new lifestyle.
“He slept with me in my bed the other night, for the very first time in his life. He was in heaven… and so was I”concluded the young woman.
