Monday evening, in Arcey, a dog was discovered dead in a field. The gendarmes suspect a criminal act. A veterinarian, who examined the animal, confirmed that the canine had a bullet wound in the stomach. The beast (a continental bulldog apparently) was therefore put down.
The dog escaped when its owner went to work
After this barbaric act, an investigation was entrusted to the brigade of communes (COB) of L’Isle-sur-le-Doubs. The poor animal had escaped on Monday morning when its owner was leaving for work. Having no news of his dog at the end of the afternoon, the resident had posted a wanted notice on social networks.
“One of his neighbors contacted him again during the evening (around 8:15 p.m.) to tell him that he had just found a dog,” said Commander Nestor-Romain, head of the Montbéliard gendarmerie company. A few hours later, the soldiers carried out the observations on the spot. Investigations are carried out in order to identify the perpetrator and understand the circumstances in which the shooting occurred.
